Our UK CAA Part-147 Approved B1.1 & B2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Course provides the qualifications and skills to apply for exciting roles with large airlines, MRO organisations, private aviation and in the military sector.
Our 2-year full time, on site, instructor led training program provides all the theoretical and practical knowledge you need in order to give you a head start in your Aviation / Aerospace industry career.
Your approved training will conclude with a supervised placement of 300 hours of Aircraft Maintenance Environment Training (AMET) with one of our live Part-145 Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) partners.
Typically, an aspiring engineer will require 5 years of on-the-job experience in a live maintenance environment.
Completing this course can reduce that requirement to 2 years to apply for your UK CAA Part-66 licence and begin the next stages of your career in the aviation and aerospace sector.
On successful completion of the 2-year approved course, you have the opportunity to earn upwards of £90K per year once certified by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) as an aircraft licenced engineer (AME) with your Part 66 Licence.

SAI Aerospace Training Ltd is the only CAA Approved Part 147 Training Provider based and registered in Scotland offering a Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Training B1.1 and B2 approved course.
You will train with experienced instructors, work with industry-standard tools and equipment, and gain hands-on exposure to real aircraft maintenance environments.

Part 147 is the regulatory approval issued by the UK Civil Aviation Authority to training organisations that meet its standards for aircraft maintenance instruction.
- Applicants for Part 66 licence application must have completed their training at a Part 147 approved organisation.
- Part 147 Maintenance Training Organisation Approval holders provide basic and / or aircraft type training services in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 1321/2014 as retained (and amended in UK domestic law) under the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018.
This licence allows the holder to issue Certificates of Release to service in an approved Part 145 Maintenance Organisation.

In order to apply for an AML, you will be required to present Certificates of Recognition from an approved Part 147 Maintenance Training provider with reference to the relevant subject modules by Aircraft Maintenance category in accordance with UK Regulation (EU) No 1321/2014, Annex III, Appendix.
- You will require a record of 90% attendance for each module and a 75% pass rate in examinations.
