Mike has worked in the global aviation industry for over 36 years, holding senior executive and board level positions in many high-profile organisations. He was Managing Director of British Airways Regional Cargo before taking on the position of Commercial Director for Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), then relocated to South Africa to become Chief Operating Officer for WFS Africa in charge of opening up new airport operations before finally returning to Scotland to take on the Commercial Director role at Glasgow Prestwick Airport.  

Mike then established Chevron Aircraft Maintenance at Prestwick Airport as Director of Maintenance and subsequently led the organisation through a successful acquisition by Storm Aviation Ltd, part of the global FL Techniques and Avia Solutions Group.  

Mike also sat on the management board of Ayrshire College for five years as a non-executive director, following which he was invited to take up the role of Chair of Developing Young Workforce (DYW) Ayrshire to support the future career development of young people across Ayrshire, a position Mike still holds.

Mike has recently moved into a new role and a brand new career as Group Head of Occupational Safety and Health for Storm Aviation.  

Mike brings significant aviation, aircraft engineering (MRO) and training knowledge and skills to the SAI Aerospace Training Board of Management.
