Location: Office and Hangar based at McNee Road, Prestwick, KA9 2PH with classroom delivery at Ayrshire College, Ayr Campus, KA8 0EU
Reports to: Training Manager
• Provide effective course preparation and planning in accordance with training schedules.
• Deliver approved aircraft basic training courses (both theoretical and practical) in compliance with national and international regulatory requirements and standards
• Undertake training course design and updates to maintain current and effective materials to meet learning objectives.
• To instruct and guide course attendees on updates of each individual’s Practical Training Log
• Carry out annual reviews of assessment criteria in accordance with Part 147 / Part 66 requirements.
• Ensure that practical training sessions are conducted in accordance with maintenance procedures and are undertaken in a safe manner.
• Undertake timely and effective post training course delivery evaluations, ensuring that training course materials remain accurate and current.
• Remain compliant with Part 147continuation and compliance training requirements.
• Maintain an awareness of Human Factors and ensure Health and Safety standards are of the highest possible and in line with the Company Safety Manual.
• Understand the purpose of and comply with the company’s internal safety reporting scheme (Occurrence Reports)and safety investigations in order to improve safety.
• Work closely with the hangar technician to ensure all tools, equipment and relevant documentation is available for course delivery and competency verification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, stakeholders, customers and external agencies
• High standard of computer literacy, especially Microsoft products
QUALIFICATIONS
• Certificates of recognition from a Part 147 / Part 145 organisation – eg Part 66 licence, Part 147 Training certificate by module
• Recognised degree / diploma consistent with the modules being taught
• Hold an instructional technique training qualification/Train the Trainer qualification to a nationally recognised standard
• Served a recognised engineering related apprenticeship (preferably Aerospace)
• Qualified to HND or degree level in Engineering (preferably Aerospace)
EXPERIENCE
• Formal training and experience of aircraft maintenance (Civil or Military)
• Experience of delivery of Licence Training
• Experience of delivery of practical training
KNOWLEDGE
Working knowledge of key Part 147/Part66 governance documentation such as the Maintenance Training Organisation Exposition, Quality Management and Safety Management requirements
• Proficient in English
